About the project

Colibrí is a suite of free web tools that run entirely in your browser: convert and compress files, transform data, generate QR codes, edit PDFs and much more — without uploading anything to any server.

Who is behind it

Colibrí is made by Daniel Maynez, a Mexican engineer, as an independent project. There is no company behind it, no investors, no sales team: just one person who wanted fast tools that do not ask for a sign-up and do not keep your files.

Development leans heavily on AI tooling to build and maintain the site, with human review and judgement. Every tool runs entirely on your device, so you can verify with your browser DevTools that nothing is sent anywhere.

Privacy first, for real

Every tool follows the same design rule: your data never leaves your browser. When you convert an image, merge a PDF or decode a JWT, the processing happens on your machine using JavaScript and WebAssembly. No file uploads, no accounts, no tracking cookies.

The only analytics is a self-hosted, cookieless visit counter (Umami) that respects Do-Not-Track, so we know which tools are actually useful.

How it is funded

All tools are free and will stay free. The project runs on voluntary donations: if something saved you time, you can buy me a coffee from the support page. We do not sell data — we do not have any — and there are no intrusive ads.
